5 tips to charge your iPhone faster

The battery of the iPhone is getting better and iOS more efficient. In most cases, however, the device will have to be connected to the adapter at the end of the day. We give 5 tips to help you make this process as quickly as possible.

1. Select flight mode

Charging the iPhone battery can be a lot faster by selecting the airplane mode. Turning on airplane mode will prevent a bad network signal from draining the battery. The iPhone also does not perform updates in the background, provided you leave Wi-Fi off (which the airplane mode does automatically).

2. Switch off iPhone

When you are not using the iPhone while charging, the best option is to turn it off. By turning off your iPhone, you prevent apps in the background and screen from affecting the charging time. That makes a difference if you have little time.

3. Use iPad charger

5 tips to charge your iPhone faster

If you have an iPad in addition to an iPhone, you can also use the latter to charge your phone. On the Apple forum Apple even gives this as a tip to iPhone users. The strength of this solution lies in the number of watts of the iPad charger. A regular charger carries 5 watts, while an iPad charger can carry up to 12 watts. This method of charging works on iPhones that are no older than the iPhone 6. Older models can also be charged in this way, only they are set so that they do not exceed 5 watts throughput.

It should be noted that using this technique too often can damage the battery, because the iPhone is set to the 1 amp that the standard charger delivers, while the iPad charger delivers 2.1 amps. However, using the iPad charger once is no problem.

4. Charge at room temperature

Extreme temperatures are disastrous for the battery of your iPhone. Charging your iPhone is best done at room temperature, removing any cover. This way, the heat that builds up in the iPhone can escape more easily. This prevents the battery life from being affected in the long term.

5. Long-term maintenance

Finally, Apple recommends that users charge the iPhone 100 percent at least once a month and use it until it turns itself off. By running a full cycle, you keep the electrons in the battery moving. Doing this at least once will help your iPhone last as long as possible.
