Fan of the Isle of Man TT and always wanted a unique racer connected to that famous street race? During the Spring Stafford Show, auction house Bonhams will auction the Gas Monkey BMW by FHO Racing 2022 M 1000 RR, with which Peter Hickman won the Superbike TT and Senior TT last year.

Admittedly, there is little Classic about the 2022 BMW M 1000 RR, but with this Gas Monkey BMW by FHO Racing 2022 M 1000 RR, the British auction house Bonhams has managed to get a unique machine to sell during the Spring Stafford Sale of the International Classic Motorcycle. Show to be auctioned.
The M 1000 RR to be auctioned is the machine with which Peter Hickman won both the Superbike TT and Senior TT last year. Not only that, the machine is still in exactly the same condition as Hickman drove it across the finish line in the world’s longest street race, winning 16.9 seconds ahead of Dean Harrison on the Kawasaki ZX-10RR. Including the flies on the cockpit.
This M 1000 RR is also unique from a technical point of view. Although based on the M 1000 RR production model, the racer has been developed as a fully factory machine specifically for the enormous challenges of the Isle of Man TT’s 37.73-mile Mountain Course.
The Superbike’s unique specification includes a reinforced frame direct from BMW, BMW Factory Type 7.1 engine (229.7 hp @ 14,500 rpm / 123 Nm @ 11,250 rpm), BMW Motorrad – M Race calibration kit and MoTeC hardware, Akrapovic racing exhaust, Brembo brake discs and calipers, Öhlins suspension and steering damper and the Dunlop tires he rode the Senior TT with.
The machine still has its “Parc Fermé” strap around the top yoke and “warhorse” Senior TT winning fairing – in conditions immediately after the race.
“This is a very special motorcycle. It has survived 12 laps over two races on the world’s most challenging and infamous road circuits – over 700 miles at an average speed of over 210 mph. This is the closest you’ll get to a active racer – an absolute rarity.”
With his Superbike and Senior TT wins in June last year, Hickman became the fourth rider in TT history to win four races in a week, bringing his total wins on the island to nine to date. The result also earned him the coveted Joey Dunlop TT Championship with 111 points.
He also held the event’s absolute lap record – and thus the fastest man on the Isle of Man – with an average speed of 133.461mph on this machine in the Superbike TT.
The machine was offered for auction directly by the FHO Racing BMW team, which was founded in 2021 by team owner and principal Faye Ho, the British Superbike team that had a very successful debut in the Isle of Man TT last year.

“Never before has a ‘current’ TT winning motorcycle been offered for sale at public auction and Bonhams is extremely proud to find a new custodian for Peter Hickman’s 2022 Isle of Man Superbike and Senior TT winning Gas Monkey BMW by FHO Racing, to be entrusted with the 2022 M1000 RR Racing motorcycle. This is truly an exceptional opportunity to collect an important piece of motorcycle history.”
The Gas Monkey BMW by FHO Racing M1000 RR will be up for auction during the Spring Stafford Sale, April 22-23 in Stafford. Bonhams expects the machine to raise between £80,000 and £10,000. More information about the auction on the Bonhams website.
