Apple is reportedly already working on a cheaper version of the Apple Reality glasses. What will be the difference between the Apple Reality and the Apple Reality One?
Cheaper Apple Reality One is coming
The rumors about Apple’s first VR glasses have been going on for a very long time. The glasses, which will probably be called Apple Reality, are expected to finally appear this year. Originally the glasses were expected this spring, but last week it became clear that Apple has pushed back the deadline again. The VR glasses will probably not be presented until Apple’s WWDC in June.

Apple’s first VR glasses will not be available to the general public, as the Apple Reality will have a retail price of approximately $3,000. This means that the glasses are mainly intended for companies to use for streaming video content and for communication, such as video calling. But there is good news: Apple is now working on cheaper VR glasses that are intended for the general public.
Cheaper VR glasses get a different display
The cheaper VR glasses are called the Apple Reality One. The more expensive version of the glasses would then be called the Apple Reality Pro. Apple plans to cut back on the glasses by reducing production costs in particular. This is done by automating the production process as much as possible and making it as efficient as possible.
To further reduce costs, the cheaper VR glasses are also becoming less advanced. The Apple Reality Pro has two 4K screens with micro-LED technology. The Apple Reality One is likely to get lower resolution screens, which are cheaper to manufacture.
In addition, the Reality Pro 15 cameras, WiFi 6E and an advanced processor, which is about as powerful as the M1 processor of the Mac. The Apple Reality One may have fewer cameras and sensors, so that the glasses can be sold for a lower price. It is quite possible that the Apple Reality One will also have a less advanced processor.
Apple Reality Pro is coming this year, Reality One will follow later
It is not yet clear what the price of the ‘cheap’ Apple Reality One will be, but the price will in any case be below $ 3000. The expectation is that the glasses will still be on the pricey side, but that Apple will make the price of the VR glasses accessible enough for the general public. According to rumors, Apple therefore plans to keep the price around $ 1500.

The more expensive Apple Reality Pro will be released this year, the Apple Reality One will have to wait a while. The low-cost version will be presented next year or early 2025.
