Your Apple Watch can do so much more than just show the time. But some things are well hidden. In these tips for the Apple Watch we show three functions that are rather hidden. Do you already know them?
Apple Watch tips: 3 hidden features
In these tips for the Apple Watch, we show you, among other things, that there is a second way to find your iPhone with the Apple Watch. In addition, we tell you what other functions the flashlight app on the Apple Watch has. You can read this and more in these Apple Watch tips.
Tip 1: Find iPhone, also with light
As you may know, you can easily make the iPhone beep from your Apple Watch. Handy if you can’t find your iPhone for a while. Are you in a noisy environment? Or are you afraid you won’t hear the beeping sound? Then you can also flash the iPhone remotely with the light near the camera. You do that in the following way.
Find iPhone through the Apple Watch, with sound and flash light
- Swipe your finger from bottom to top on the main Apple Watch screen;
- When you tap the icon with the iPhone, your iPhone will beep;
- Hold down your finger briefly on the same button. Then your iPhone will beep and the flashlight will flash.
Tip 2: flashlight on the Apple Watch (but less bright)
Your Apple Watch has a built-in flashlight app. Handy if, for example, you can’t find the keyhole of your front door in the dark. You then shine with your Apple Watch for a while and you don’t have to take the iPhone out of your pocket to use the flashlight app on it.
But did you know that this flashlight app also has other options. For example, you can turn on a flashing light. Handy when you’re in a big crowd and you want to show your friends where you stand. There is also a red flashlight that comes in handy when you need just a little more light, but don’t want to dazzle everyone around you.
To open the flashlight on your Apple Watch, follow the steps below.
- Swipe your finger from bottom to top on the main Apple Watch screen;
- Scroll down and tap the flashlight icon with your finger.
You now open the flashlight with the default settings (this is a white light). By swiping your finger from right to left on the screen, you can make the flashlight blink. If you swipe to the left again, a red color will appear. Handy when you just need a little extra light in the dark.
Tip 3: Set Siri as your watch face
Did you know that the Apple Watch also has a special watch face for Siri? This watch face shows you a lot of information and you also get a special button on the screen to activate Siri immediately. In these Apple Watch tips, we’ll show you how to set up this watch face.
- Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone;
- Tap ‘Watch faces’ at the bottom;
- Scroll down until you get to the “Siri” heading;
- Tap the Siri watch face, choose a color and set the complications to your liking;
- At the top of the screen, tap ‘Add’;
- The watch face appears immediately on your Apple Watch.
When you turn the Digital Crown on your Apple Watch, you will see different information. At the top of the watch face you will also find a Siri logo. If you tap on that, you activate Siri on your Apple Watch.
