Mercedes-Benz scraps C-class engine versions

Mercedes-Benz is reviewing the delivery range of the C-class in the Netherlands. Two engine versions are disappearing, but there are also versions.

Mercedes-Benz puts an end to a number of engine versions of the C-class in the Netherlands. The 258 hp C300 will disappear from the Dutch price list and the C300 4Matic – so with four-wheel drive – is no longer available. A powertrain also dies in the diesel field. The 265 hp 300d and 300d 4Matic have been canceled and, just like the C300 and C300 4Matic, will not return, the Dutch importer confirms to AutoWeek.

Mercedes-Benz not only removes things from the C-class price list, it also adds a few things to it. For example, plug-in hybrids C300 e (petrol) and C300 de (diesel) are now also available as a Business Line for both the C-class Limousine and Estate, while those two plug-in versions were available from Luxury Line to date. The Business Line trim also returns to other C-Class engine versions, including the C180 and C200d.

More news: the C-class Estate is now also available as a plug-in hybrid C300 e 4Matic, so with four-wheel drive. The C-class Limousine already had that four-wheel drive version of the plug-in hybrid powertrain. However, for that four-wheel drive plug-in hybrid you have to rely on the Luxury Line and AMG Line flavors.
