Nio ES6 unveiled: electric SUV as EL6 to Europe?

Nio is now also becoming a well-known name for Europeans, but that was still different in 2018. In that year, the Chinese brand presented its second model, the ES6. It is that ES6 that is now starting a new chapter, although the SUV does not really break rigorously with the past in terms of lines.

Unfortunately, Nio is not very generous with sharing photos yet, but in addition to the now official image of the ES6, we also have our own images. AutoWeek already showed photos of the new ES6 in January, including the photo below from the back. In any case, it is clear that the Nio ES6 is immediately recognizable as Nio and still resembles both the outgoing ES6 and its big brother ES7 (EL7).

We already know that the ES6 is only a tiny bit smaller than the ES7. It is therefore a fairly large boy, with 2.92 meters between the wheels and 4.85 meters in total length. Nio is still tight-lipped when it comes to what the new ES6 has to offer, but AutoWeek has already discovered that there is at least a four-wheel drive version with a 204 hp electric motor in the front and a 286 hp one in the back. The Nio ES6 most likely shares battery packs with the EL7 and then you can count on a 75 kWh and a 100 kWh model and a maximum range of over 500 km. Nio will release more details in May and then we will probably also see the interior.

It does not stop with this ES6, which will probably come to the Netherlands as EL6. There is also a brother in the barrel with a sloping roofline. How could it be otherwise nowadays. It listens to the name EC6 in its home country China and has yet to be presented. In addition, a special expansion for the ET5 already available here in the Netherlands is waiting in the wings at Nio; a real Nio ET5 station wagon.
