In the year that BMW Motorrad celebrates its 100th anniversary, the Germans will launch the next generation of the world’s best-selling bicycle (in the heavy segment), the R 1300 GS, according to our man this fall. Now the R 1300 GS had been spotted during test work before, but never from as close as our man has now succeeded.

The two prototypes of the new 2024 BMW R 1300 GS drove up together. Both bikes were equipped with wire wheels and side cases. The headlight was camouflaged, but the daytime running lights were nevertheless clearly visible. Although the question is whether they are round in shape, or more of an LED strip idea.

The radar is also clearly visible above the headlight, which measures the distance to the vehicle in front to control adaptive cruise control. At the rear, the radar is placed between the turn signals.

Both prototypes are equipped with several accessories, such as the crash bar around the block. Also clearly visible is the switch for the passenger seat heating on the side, while a look at the TFT display reveals that BMW has provided new graphics here.
