The new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models have received a number of innovations, including a mechanical variable aperture, new Pro functions in the camera app, A20 Pro chip and second-generation vapor chamber. But perhaps the most important new feature is the extended battery life. The battery of the Pro Max lasts no less than six hours longer.
Thanks to a larger battery and a more efficient A20 Pro chip, the battery life has been significantly increased. Apple also promises faster wired charging, so you spend less time at the mercy of a wall socket. We have listed the information for you.
Battery life iPhone 18 Pro series
The battery life of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max has been significantly improved compared to previous models thanks to larger batteries and a more energy-efficient A20 chip. This allows you to play and stream videos for up to four to six hours longer, providing much longer battery life per charge. Below we explain what has been changed.

Improved processor
The iPhone 18 Pro models are powered by the A20 Pro chip. Apple has not only made the processor faster, but also more efficient. In combination with the screen and the new energy management, this should ensure lower consumption during daily use.
The new C2 modem also plays a role in this. According to Apple, this modem uses less energy and can upload faster in certain circumstances than the previous generation. A more efficient modem can make a difference, especially when using mobile internet, streaming and uploading photos and videos.

The iPhone 18 Pro also has a new vapor chamber. It dissipates heat better during heavy tasks, such as gaming, filming and performing AI functions. A device that heats up less quickly does not have to reduce performance as often and can continue to work more efficiently.
Energy-efficient N1 chip
The N1 chip in the iPhone 18 Pro (Max) is a chip designed by Apple for wireless networks. This chip supports the latest standards such as WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6 and Thread, ensuring faster, more stable and more energy efficient wireless connections are possible. The N1 chip also improves the performance and reliability of features like Personal Hotspot and AirDrop.
Larger battery added
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max have a slightly larger battery. This is mainly reflected in the increase in battery capacity (mAh). The iPhone 18 Pro Max improves by no less than 6 hours compared to the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Battery capacity explained
The capacity of a battery is expressed in mAh, which stands for Milliampere-hour. This number expresses how long (in hours) the battery can supply a certain current (mA) (hx mA). Therefore, if more power is required from the battery, the battery will be empty sooner.
For example, if you own an iPhone 18 Pro Max, it has a battery capacity of 5391 mAh. If you do not use it intensively, it will consume an average of 110mA per hour and the battery will last about 46 hours (5391/110 = 49 hours of battery life). Unfortunately, a device is used more intensively and you quickly end up with an average battery life of 26 hours.

The table shows the battery life of different iPhone models. The figures are based on official information from Apple and may vary in practice. Apple no longer provides average battery life for data/internet and talk time since the iPhone 11, nor for audio playback since the iPhone 17 series.
The battery capacity (mAh) of the new iPhone models will now be officially announced by Apple on their specifications page based on the energy labels in the EU.
Figures for normal use
For the first time, Apple mentions a battery life for the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro models that is more in line with normal daily use. Instead of just individual measurements, such as video playback or video streaming, the iPhone was tested with a combination of different tasks and conditions.

This takes into account, among other things, surfing the internet, watching videos, using apps and other daily activities. As a result, the stated usage time gives a more realistic picture of what you can expect during a normal day with the iPhone, although the actual battery life remains dependent on, among other things, your screen use, mobile connection, brightness and active apps.

Battery capacity increased
What is immediately noticeable is that the battery capacity has been increased for both models; In fact, the iPhone 18 Pro Max has the longest battery life ever in an iPhone. The iPhone Duo lasts an hour less, at least if you only use the outer screen, combined the Duo lasts 24 hours on a single charge.
It is difficult to predict how long the battery of the iPhone 18 Pro series will last for you. This purely depends on the use; not everyone uses their iPhone in the same way and uses the same networks: 3G/4G/5G. With iOS 27, you can use Adaptive Power to automatically extend battery life with minor adjustments.

The battery life figures provide a result for comparable audio usage, allowing you to compare battery capacity between different iPhone models. Combined use simply cannot be compared and varies per user.
Always-on Display
The always-on screen of the iPhone 18 (Pro) and iPhone Duo ensures that the iPhone screen is always on and the lock screen is visible. By only refreshing the screen at 1Hz, the battery is saved.

The ProMotion OLED screen with dynamic refresh rate and the Display Engine in the processor ensure that the power consumption of the Always-on access screen is kept to a minimum. In addition, the iPhone also has a minimum brightness of 1 nit. This means that the always-on display can dim even further in a dark environment.
Fast charging improved
Do you charge the iPhone via a USB-C cable? Then you can be charged up to 50% within 15 minutes with an adapter of 60 W or more on the iPhone 18 Pro (Max) models. You can charge the iPhone Duo to 50% within 20 minutes with an adapter of 60 W or more.
