In September we will be introduced to the brand new Peugeot e-3008. The only electrically available ‘fastback SUV’, as Peugeot describes it, is now showing its interior. The e-3008 gets a new generation of the famous i-Cockpit.
Peugeot will push the power pedal further in the coming years and will introduce five new EVs in the next two years. One of them is the brand new e-3008, which no longer has a fuel equivalent next to it, but it does have a somewhat more spacious brother called the e-5008. The new e-3008 not only distances itself from the current (e)-3008 by only doing it with electric drive, but also by its sloping roofline. Peugeot calls it a ‘fastback SUV’, clearly making it a brother of the Peugeot 408. The whole naturally gets Peugeot’s latest design sauce poured over it and that also applies to the interior, as we now see.
Those who take a seat in the new Peugeot e-3008 look at a somewhat different ‘i-Cockpit’ than we are used to today. The screens are housed in and on the dashboard in a slightly different way. The digital instruments and the infotainment screen are now combined in one wide 21-inch screen. They are in a panel that protrudes from the top layer of the dashboard and therefore appears to float above the dashboard. A set-up that we have known for a while from other brands and that is also more reminiscent of what sister brand Opel is already doing.

The ventilation grilles for the driver are housed in another element lower in the dashboard and there is also a central touchpad with ‘i-Toggles’, as Peugeot calls them. User-assignable shortcut keys that, for example, conjure up the climate control or start navigation to a frequent destination. To the left of this touchpad you will find the selection slider for the direction of travel. Is that all the news that catches your eye? No definitely not. The new Peugeot e-3008 also gets a new steering wheel. A copy with a somewhat more flattened top and bottom and other touch-sensitive keys with haptic feedback on them.
You can count on us to see such an i-Cockpit in more future Peugeots. Logically, the e-5008 even gets exactly the same workplace as the e-3008. More interested in what the e-3008 has to offer technically? Fortunately, we already got a taste of that in January. Peugeot then indicated that the new e-3008 will have a range of up to 700 km, which is a significant improvement compared to the current one. The fact that Peugeot is already showing the interior of the new e-3008 probably means that we will soon hear and see more in the run-up to the unveiling in September.
