Centimeter party

The Passat was once one of the pillars on which the Volkswagen empire leaned, but the relevance of the model has declined considerably in recent years. However, it is not over and over for the middle class. In fact, a new one is coming. Volkswagen is releasing an extensive set of photos and more information about the car. The new Volkswagen Passat is growing considerably, while the number of appearances of the model is halved.
The new generation of Volkswagen Passat only comes as a Variant, which means that it will soon be over and out for the Passat Sedan. However, the new Volkswagen Passat Variant is growing considerably compared to the current model. It becomes no less than 14.4 centimeters longer and extends over a distance of 4.92 meters. Although the overhangs of the new Passat have become more robust, the wheelbase also increases, by a considerable 5 centimeters to 2.84 meters. In addition, the Passat Variant is also 2 centimeters wider. You will soon notice those extra centimeters both in the back seat and at the very back of the Passat Variant.
According to Volkswagen, the new Passat Variant consumes 690 litres, 40 liters more than the outgoing model. If you throw the back seat flat, you can store no less than 1,920 liters of stuff in the Passat. That is 140 liters more than its predecessor swallows with the rear seats folded down. Rear seat passengers benefit from 5 centimeters of extra legroom in the new Passat Variant. A significant increase.
Under the new Volkswagen Passat Variant you will find the MQB Evo platform. Not a completely new basis for the new Passat. A fully electric version will therefore not be available, which is why Volkswagen has of course devised this ID7 Variant. Like the outgoing Passat, the new model also gets plug-in hybrid powertrains. There will be 204 hp and 272 hp plug versions with an electric range of up to a very decent 100 kilometers. Of course, you can also count on mild-hybrid petrol versions. TDI diesels will also be available again.
Interior
No new model without the necessary displays and so Volkswagen is working out nicely in that area. The standard infotainment screen has a diagonal of 12.9 inches and a larger version with a diagonal of 15 inches will also be available. Behind the steering wheel is of course a digital set of instruments.
Volkswagen Passat: inside with large screens.
Bratislava, located in Slovakia, will soon be the birthplace of the new Passat Variant. The car will soon run there together with the new Skoda Superb, which will have a second body variant (liftback) off the band in addition to a Combi.
