Fastned expands to Scandinavia

The Dutch fast charging company Fastned is expanding its territory to Scandinavia. It settles in Denmark. The first Fastned fast charging stations will be built in Denmark this year.

Denmark is the first Scandinavian country where Fastned is active. It has received permission from the Danish Vejdirektoratet – in a sense the Danish equivalent of Rijkswaterstaat – to install fast chargers in the country.

Fastned starts its Danish adventure with three fast charging stations. Two of them will open at the end of this year, the third station will be commissioned in the summer of 2024. There will be a station with four chargers in Helsingør, a smart place. The ferry to Helsingborg in Sweden departs from Helsingør. A station with four chargers will also be installed in Grevinge. The third and largest station will have 16 fast chargers and will be located in Langeskov Syd along the E20 in 2024.

Denmark is a potentially lucrative new market for Fastned. Denmark has set itself the goal of having 1 million electric cars on the road in the country by 2030. Fastned, in turn, wants to have 1,000 charging stations in Europe by 2030. Fastned has a total of more than 270 fast charging stations in the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium, France and Switzerland.
