Carbon party
Abt, Audi’s in-house tuner, introduces its Legacy Edition of the Audi RS7. That is an RS7 Performance-based swing special with no less than 760 hp. The Legacy Edition, as the name suggests, is probably the last Abt special of a purely fossil-fuelled Audi RS7. The company will build 200 units.
We have extra good news for Dutch candidates for an Audi RS7: Abt announces to build 200 copies of its new Abt RS7 Legacy Edition. It is therefore possible again – via Abt – to order a brand new RS7, which was recently no longer possible in the Netherlands. Three months ago we wrote that Audi removed its A7 and RS7 from the Dutch order lists, so that only a scarce copy from stock could still offer a possibility. Now Abt is adding another 200 possibilities.
The Abt RS7 Legacy Edition is an Audi RS7 Performance tackled according to the same recipe as the RS6 Legacy Edition, so one from after the most recent update. Abt’s treatment increases the power values of the double-blown V8 to 760 hp and 920 Nm of torque, allowing the car to sprint to 100 km / h in 3.1 seconds. A ‘regular’ RS7 Performance needs 3.6 seconds for that trick, because it only has a ‘pale’ 630 hp.
Abbot RS7: little subtle
And: it can no longer be ordered in the Netherlands at all, which does not apply to the Abt version. However, it is only of interest to those who are charmed by carbon fiber flaps and trims, because the RS7 Legacy Edition has a lot of them. In front of and behind each wheel, on the bonnet, on the side mirrors and on its buttocks: the ‘RS7-LE’ is laced all around with the lightweight material. Also inside, by the way. Abt reupholsters the dashboard, seats and steering wheel with leather, Alcantara and therefore extra carbon fiber.
It is not yet known what prices the exclusive decoration will lead to, but those who want to get hold of a copy had better inquire about it quickly. It’s gone – and the chance of another RS7 following a similar recipe is slim.
