After a few minutes in the wall

The pressure is full on Red Bull Racing driver Sergio Pérez, but Max Verstappen’s teammate has had a dramatic start to the race weekend in Hungary. After just a few minutes he drove his RB19 into the wall.
Since the Monaco Grand Prix, things have not been going well for Sergio Pérez. Now that Daniel Ricciardo has also been brought back to Formula 1, it seems that Pérez will have to do everything he can to secure his position at Red Bull. At the Hungaroring near Budapest, he has the chance this weekend to make it clear that Ricciardo does not have to dream of a return to the team for the time being. Unfortunately for Pérez, the weekend got off to a very bad start.
Just minutes after the start of the first free practice, Pérez touched the grass just before a corner and sent the car into a spin. Despite a considerable run-off lane, he crashed into the wall, because he lost control of the wheel at high speed. It seems that Red Bull will have to tinker with the Mexican’s RB19 to get it ready for the second free practice, which starts at 5 p.m. Red Bull also made the necessary upgrades to the car this weekend, so parts availability may be limited and Pérez may have to switch to older parts.

Bergers take Pérez’s car off the circuit (ANP).
