If you have an Apple Watch Series 4 or earlier model, it’s a good idea to upgrade to the Apple Watch Series 9, as it will be iPhoned a better deal than the Series X.
Apple Watch Series 9 better than the Series X
The Apple Watch will be 10 years old next year and it looks like the Series X (or 10) is getting a major restyle for that reason. So it seems like a good idea to skip the Series 9 and wait for the Series X, but it’s not necessarily the case.
According to rumors, the Series 9 will only receive a small update, without significant new features. It is likely that the Apple Watch Series 9 will get a much faster new chip and will support 5G and WiFi 6 (E). But it will most likely be much more. Still, there are several reasons to choose the Series 9 that will be released soon. Especially if you have an older model.

watchOS 10 is coming this fall
WatchOS 10 will be released in the fall and will then be compatible with the Apple Watch Series 4 and newer. If you have a Series 3, it is a good idea to switch to a newer model anyway, especially since the battery of the Series 3 is already aged. But even if you do have a compatible model, the Series 9 is not a bad idea.
In watchOS 10, Apple’s standard apps get a new look, show smart stacks of relevant information and you use the side button to activate the control panel. The new interface is designed to take full advantage of the larger 41mm and 45mm screens introduced with the Series 7, with additional health data and impressive graphics. A reason to upgrade if you have a Series 6 or older.

A really new chip
The Apple Watch Series 8 has an S8 chip, but that is basically exactly the same chip as the S6 from 2020. The Series 9 will really get a new chip and that will probably bring a lot of changes, including probably a longer battery life and even more speed. If we look at the past, it is likely that after the Series 9 only the Series 12 will get a really new chip.
Apple Watch straps still compatible
Since the launch of the Apple Watch in 2015, Apple has always made sure that new bands are compatible with old Apple Watch models. With the exception of the Solo Loop, all 41mm straps fit 38mm and 40mm models, and 45mm straps fit 42mm, 44mm, and 49mm models.

According to rumors, the Apple Watch X will get a new mechanism (possibly magnetic) with new straps. So it could be that the Series 9 is the last Apple Watch that is still compatible with the bands you already own. If you still want to use it, then the Apple Watch Series 9 is better than the Series X.
Apple Watch Series 9 better thanks to classic design
The Apple Watch X is rumored to be getting a massive makeover, with a flat screen and sides similar to the iPhone 13. It’s going to look gorgeous, no doubt, but it does mean you miss the sleek curves of the classic design. must miss. If you go for a Series 9, you can enjoy the classic design for a few more years.
