So you thought we had had the big hits from the IAA? Then put yourself away. After the brand new and fully electric Scenic, Renault has pulled out another newcomer. This is the Renault Grand Kangoo.

The order version of the Renault Kangoo was already available in two lengths and now the passenger car version of the French ludospace acquainted with a second and especially longer version. It’s called the Grand Kangoo and, thanks to its extra centimeters of space, it offers an extra row of seats, meaning you can drive it across the country with up to seven people.

Renault Grand Kangoo: also as an electric E-Tech.

The Renault Grand Kangoo has three rows of seats with three seats in the second row, but also two regular seats in the back. Renault emphasizes that the seats in the third row are not small seats, but actually full-fledged seats. They are sliding, foldable and each completely removable. To illustrate the flexibility, Renault mentions that there are a total of 1,024 different configurations for the furniture. If you fold all rows of seats and the co-driver’s seat flat, a 3.11 meter deep loading space is created. With all the seats up you should still be able to carry 500 liters of stuff.

The Grand Kangoo is probably as long as the longest order version of the Renault, which would mean that it is 4.91 meters long, more than 40 centimeters longer than the ‘short’ Kangoo. The two sliding doors are 18 centimeters wider than those of the regular Kangoo. Just like the delivery Kangoo and the short passenger car version of the space giant, this Grand Kangoo is also available as an electric E-Tech. It has a 45 kWh (net) battery pack and should be able to drive up to 265 kilometers. Its electric motor is 122 hp and 245 Nm strong.

The passenger car version of the Kangoo was also announced at the end of last year – only as an EV – for the Dutch market. That ‘short’ electric Kangoo is still not available to order. The van version of the Kangoo has been available in our country for some time.
