Jeep Wrangler: already built 5,000,000 times

CJ successor Jeep Wrangler has become a household name in the car world, just like its predecessor. The rugged off-roader now also proves this with its production counter. Five million copies of the Jeep Wrangler have now been built.

The Jeep Wrangler is one of the most recognizable off-roaders and therefore fits in with models such as the Mercedes-Benz G-class and Land Rover Defender. The Wrangler may have contributed greatly to the phenomenon of non-car experts labeling off-road models as ‘jeep’. The first generation of CJ successor Jeep Wrangler went into production 37 years ago at the American Motors Corporation factory and this week the five millionth copy was purchased by a customer in Camden, New Jersey, US. The undoubtedly happy customer will receive, among other things, $5,000 worth of Jeep Performance Parts from Jeep.

The Jeep Wrangler is now in its fourth generation. The current Wrangler (JL) has been in operation since 2017. About 630,000 units of the original Wrangler YJ were sold between 1987 and 1995. The second generation Wrangler – the TJ – arrived in 1996 and was succeeded six years ago by the current Wrangler.
