Decent access to The Hague again

Have you avoided the A12 in The Hague lately because it was regularly packed with people instead of cars? Then we have good news. The climate activists of Extinction Rebellion will no longer form human blockades on the stretch of highway for the time being.
In September, protest club Extinction Rebellion announced that it would no longer block the A12 near The Hague not only at weekends, but also during the week. Extinction Rebellion (XR) mainly bothered motorists, but said it hoped to force the government to put an end to ‘fossil subsidies’ through the nuisance it caused with the blockades.
Good news for those who have avoided the A12 in The Hague lately: XR has indicated that it will no longer organize human blockades on the stretch of highway for the time being. This is what a spokesperson for the action group told the ANP. A majority in the House of Representatives appears to agree with a motion examining the possible phasing out of ‘fossil subsidies’. XR pats its chest and concludes that “civil disobedience works.” “In recent times, with the A12 blockades, we have caused shock waves in society and caused people to look at fossil subsidies differently. That social change has today been translated into politics. And that is what we always wanted.”
Is it finally over for protests and/or blocking of XR? It’s not that far. The demonstration club indicates that it will “keep a close eye on the implementation” and emphasizes that “[…] Extinction Rebellion supporters remain ready to take to the streets again.”
