Four times a quarter of a century
The Louwman Group is celebrating its centenary this year. That is not only enough for the designation ‘royal’, but also for four unique festive Morgans. These are based on the Morgan Plus Four and the Morgan Plus Six and are actually for sale.
Louwman has been associated with Morgan for a long time. At first this was done via Nimag (also Suzuki), now via the beautiful Louwman Exclusive building on the A2 near Utrecht. From that showroom, Louwman, which can now call itself ‘Royal’ because of its 100th anniversary, celebrates the anniversary with four unique Morgans. The idea is that each variant represents a quarter of a century in Louwman’s history. The first, second and third Morgan from the series are of the Plus Four type. The cars all have a 2.0-liter four-cylinder from BMW on board, good for 258 hp and a 0 to 100 time of 4.8 seconds.
The first car in this series is dark green and refers to the period 1923 to 1948. So many classic elements, and a lot of black. Car 2 is a reference to the 50s and 60s. In cheerful light blue and with lots of chrome, this car may look less ‘racy’, but it is a lot more cheerful. The dark blue hood is also available.
The third and final Plus Four is a car that draws its inspiration from the 1980s and 1990s. With its dark carriage and light interior, this is above all a very elegantly designed Morgan, with the wire wheels that were very popular in that period, according to Louwman. on Morgans.
The fourth car in the series is not a Morgan Plus Four, but a Morgan Plus Six. With a six-in-line from BMW, good for 340 hp and from 0 to 100 in just 4.2 seconds. This car is, you guessed it, a tribute to the most recent period in the history of Louwman and Morgan. It is finished in a much lighter green, combined with large silver-colored alloy wheels and a beige interior.
The four special Louwman-Morgans can be recognized by the color schemes mentioned and shown, but also by the large number (1 to 4) in the grille and special ‘Centenary Tribute’ badges. Each copy remains unique and the cars can be purchased from €124,950, a price that of course applies to the Plus Four variants. The Plus Six costs €166,450. According to Louwman, buyers receive a significant discount, as the cars are packed with options. Not only a gift, but also a treat. Congratulations!
