Ducati Multistrada V4 RS: Superbike meets Touring

Where normally a special, limited version is distinguished by exclusive and, above all, expensive parts, Ducati has for the first time gone a significant step further with the Multistrada V4 RS by also providing the engine with a much sportier beating heart. The 1,158cc V4 has made way for the 1,103cc V4 of the Panigale V4.

Thanks to the V4 with desmodromic valve drive, the Multistrada V4 RS offers unique performance and driving sensations, according to Ducati while maintaining the balance that has always characterized the Multistrada family. The unmistakable sound of the Desmosedici Stradale with dry clutch and Akrapovič silencer only makes the experience even better.

The most demanding motorcyclists will appreciate the technical and stylish details that make it a unique motorcycle in terms of personality and character. The RS logo was designed by Centro Stile and is incorporated into the livery, on the key and in the graphics of the dashboard.

The sleek and streamlined rear end, designed exclusively for this motorcycle, helps to make it even sportier. Ducati says the Multistrada V4 RS is a model where every part, every detail – from the electronic package with radar technology to the very light titanium rear frame – has been chosen with a single goal: to create the sportiest touring bike ever. The most exciting Multistrada ever made by Ducati.

The Multistrada V4 RS combines the unmistakable Multistrada line with technical solutions reminiscent of the technologies used in racing, typical of Borgo Panigale’s supersport motorcycles. The name RS has exactly this meaning and recalls another motorcycle in Ducati’s history – the Monster S4 RS – born according to the same inspiring principles.

The various carbon parts, such as the front mudguard, the handguards (specially designed for this model), the heat shields and the “beak” at the front, create a play of contrasts with the Iceberg White livery, enriched with various references to the color of the Desmosedici MotoGP.

The sleek and lightweight technopolymer rear integrates the passenger grab handles and defines a sporty, refined and unmistakable side view. The titanium frame for the saddle support is a component of great technical elegance that emphasizes the sportiness and allows a weight saving of 2.5 kg compared to the standard frame.

The Ducati Multistrada V4 RS is produced in a numbered series. The number is on a black anodized aluminum plate, decorated with the Italian flag, which is mounted on the triple clamp.

As mentioned, the Multistrada V4 RS is the only Multi in the family that is equipped with the Desmosedici Stradale engine of 1,103 cc. To combine the flexibility of the Multistrada with the sporty characteristics of the Panigale V4 and Streetfighter V4, Ducati has adjusted the power curve of the V4, which according to the Italians provides a smooth delivery at the bottom and an exciting final shot, which is enhanced by the sound in terms of driving experience. is additionally reinforced.

Ducati says it achieved these results by using the air filter from the Panigale V4 R, which is more permeable and sportier, and an exhaust system with Akrapovič silencer specially developed for the Multistrada V4 RS.
In this configuration, which is Euro 5+ homologated, the Desmosedici Stradale engine develops a maximum power of 180 hp, limited to 13,500 rpm.

Finally, like the Panigale V4 SP2 and Streetfighter V4 SP2, the Multistrada V4 RS is also equipped with an STM-EVO SBK dry clutch made of billet aluminum, with a specific configuration of springs and slipper plates. This component, which makes driving smoother during braking and acceleration, also contributes to enriching the exhaust sound with the typical metallic sound when the clutch is squeezed.

The Multistrada V4 RS will be available from official Ducati dealers from January 2024 in one version, with a front and rear radar in Iceberg White as standard.
