Volvo EX30: The most sustainable Volvo ever

As far as Volvo is concerned, an electric car goes much further than simply driving emission-free, even though it directly contributes to cleaner air. From that perspective, it is good news that one in three new Volvos sold is fully electric.

  • Sustainability is central, also during development and production
  • Interior full of recycled materials
  • Full safety systems as standard
  • Range up to 476 kilometers
  • Three equipment levels

Battery without cobalt and nickel: LFP

Volvo looks for the lowest possible CO in all aspects of development and production2emissions and using recycled materials. The Volvo EX30 sets a new standard in this. Take the LFP battery combined with the Single Motor variant. That abbreviation stands for Lithium Ferro Phosphate, or lithium iron phosphate. This type of battery is cheaper, lighter, lasts longer, is more resistant to high temperatures and – even more importantly – free of cobalt and nickel.

Lowest CO2footprint of all Volvos to date

Electric driving is sustainable driving and directly contributes to cleaner air. But Volvo goes much further than that. The new Volvo EX30 not only sets the benchmark when it comes to safety, but also when it comes to the footprint during production and the entire life cycle. Approximately 17 percent of all plastics used are made from recycled material. The factory where the Volvo EX30 is built makes extensive use of climate-neutral energy, including 100 percent climate-neutral electricity. At the end of its life, the Volvo EX30 can be recycled for 95 percent.

Long driving range, impressive towing capacity

The Volvo EX30 program starts with the 272 hp, rear-wheel drive Single Motor version with a range of up to 344 kilometers. The towing weight is then 1,000 kg. The same engine can be combined with a larger battery, which increases the range to a maximum of 476 kilometers, in combination with a trailer weight of 1,600 kg. The top model is the Volvo EX30 Twin Motor Performance. It has two engines, together good for 428 hp, combined with a range of up to 450 kilometers and a towing capacity of 1,600 kg.

SEPP subsidy of €2,950
