Now with a political party on it
There is a new license plate series under the sun for commercial vehicles. The lucky first recipient is a Ford Transit Connect. And there is also someone with a Transit Connect who still has the old series.
The RDW launched a brand new license plate series for commercial vehicles on Monday. Where a license plate used to start with three letters followed by two numbers and one more letter, it is now the other way around. The first license plate in this new series is V-01-BBB and it appears on a brand new Ford Transit Connect. The last plate from the outgoing series, VZZ-99-Z, is also on a Transit Connect. We are pointed out by ‘license plate guru’ Jasper Verweij.
Perhaps the letter combination BBB will raise eyebrows, because that is of course also a political party. Political parties that emerged earlier are deliberately not found on license plates, such as VVD and PVV. Other potentially loaded combinations such as GVD and NSB are also excluded. BBB is apparently not (yet) on that ‘red list’.
