Skoda Octavia: Skoda’s absolute top seller will soon be renewed

The current generation of the Skoda Octavia was presented at the end of 2019, which means that the spacious Czech is now more than four years old. The management in Mladá Boleslav gave the order to renew the Octavia some time ago. The facelifted Skoda Octavia can now be seen in a shadowy teaser video.

Ever since the introduction of the first generation Octavia in 1996, the Octavia has been a strong pillar within the Skoda family. The Skoda Octavia that is now in Skoda showrooms has been there in that form since 2019. In terms of design, the Octavia still fits in neatly with the rest of the Skoda models, even after four years, but the Czechs have a new version in the pipeline to maintain attention for the model.

The previous generation Octavia was equipped with completely new lighting and split headlights during its facelift in 2016, which gave the Skoda a completely new face. The facelift that Skoda is carrying out on the current generation of Octavia appears to be less intense in nature. The Skoda Octavia gets a revised grille that apparently grows a size compared to the current one. The Octavia’s headlights are also included in the cropping. We see less of it now, but soon an LED strip will run diagonally downwards from the headlights and follow the contours of the grille. Skoda already reports that it is also revising the Skoda lettering on the buttocks.

The updated Skoda Octavia hatchback and Combi will be presented shortly. Of the 886,800 cars that Skoda sold in 2023, almost 192,000 were Octavias. This makes the Skoda Octavia by far the most popular model of the brand. After all, in second place we find the Kamiq, of which 116,500 units were sold in 2023. The Skoda Kodiaq was in third place in 2023 with 105,900 registrations. In the Netherlands, the electric Enyaq was the fastest selling model last year (4,715 units). The Skoda Octavia finished in second place in the Netherlands in 2023 with 4,158 registrations. Skoda has already sold a total of 116,620 Octavias in the Netherlands. This makes it the most popular Skoda ever in the Netherlands. It remains well ahead of the Fabia, of which 89,403 units were delivered.
