According to car insurance expert Menno Dijcks of Independer, the fact that premiums are rising is easily explained: “Repairs have not become cheaper in the past year. Consider rising labor costs and parts required for repairs. All these factors have an effect on the premium level. In addition, the roads are busier, which means there are relatively more accidents.” The differences per car brand also logically have something to do with this. For example, parts or repairs for a certain brand may have become above-average more expensive, but also if relatively more accidents occur with a certain brand, this can have an effect on the premiums for cars. of that brand.
