Apple will add new features to the Calendar and Reminders apps with the iOS 18 and MacOS 15 update. And it was about time.
Calendar and Reminders get long-awaited feature
According to a rumor (from AppleInsider’s Marko Zivkovic) Apple is testing a new and improved version of the Calendar app. This app will then work better with the Reminders app. You can then immediately schedule and organize reminders with the Calendar app. So you no longer have to open the Reminders app separately.
Reminders created via the new Calendar app will still appear in the Reminders app. Calendar allows you to set a specific date, time, location and priority for each reminder. The update should make using both apps easier.
Memories and events in the same place
In the new Calendar app, when you tap an area in the Day, Week, or Month view, an option appears to set a reminder or record an event. So both can be done from the same place.
If you create a reminder via the Calendar app, it is possible to add a note or tag to describe the reminder or make it easier to find. These reminders behave just like reminders created with the Reminders app.
In addition to the integration of the two apps, the Calendar app is also expected to see minor changes. For example, in the Day view, the hours within a day are displayed slightly larger than in previous versions.
iOS 18 and MacOS 15 will be presented on June 10 during WWDC. On iPhoned we will keep you informed of the latest developments.
