Ancestors Day in Alkmaar

This HCC!genealogy day was also a day that took members and visitors on a quest for their ancestors. Our advisors gave demos, but also workshops on how (use search keys), what (birth, marriage and death certificates) and where (WhoWasWie and Open Archives) you could find this data.
For the curious, guided tours of the depot had been organized by the archive. Just a look behind the scenes. Five interesting lectures were also given that day.
In addition to a presentation of Family Search, the archive also provided two lectures. Supplemented with two presentations by HCC!genealogy about the genealogical program Aldfaer and Genealogical Apps for Android and iOS, it was a day to look back on. Especially considering the number of visitors (about 340) who all went home very satisfied.

Exhibitors
Twenty exhibitors informed those present with websites and programs. Consider major players such as Geneanet and Family Search. Almost all Dutch-speaking software makers showed the possibilities of their software, especially the export of genealogies (descendant overview) and graphic pedigree charts (ancestor overview). There was also extensive information about DNA.

What is the HCC!genealogy day?
The HCC!genealogy day is a day, usually in October or November, that everyone who is involved in family tree research looks forward to. However, due to the distribution of our members, the day is held in a different place (archive) each time. If you are interested in researching your family tree, we advise you to visit our website: genealogie.hcc.nl

There is a lot of information there about how, what and where, but also our agenda where our meetings in the country can be found. Anyone who becomes a member of our Interest Group will receive a nice welcome gift (a USB stick with all our published volumes of Gens Humana, but also more than a thousand genealogies and pedigree charts of members.

If you are still in doubt, you can sign up for our Newsletter and be informed about the latest news for genealogists.
