iOS 18 beta 2: these are the new features
Apple showed off iOS 18 for the first time during WWDC 2024. The same day you could get started with the first beta of iOS 18. Beta 2 of iOS 18 has now been released. In iOS 18 beta 2, several new features are added and a number of things have been fixed. We’ll tell you what’s new!
The main improvements in this update to iOS 18 are the following two new features: iPhone mirroring and SharePlay. iPhone Mirroring is a new feature in macOS Sequoia that lets you see a live interactive screen from your iPhone on your Mac. Notifications from the iPhone also appear on the Mac screen.
SharePlay Screen Sharing is an upgrade to the screen sharing feature in FaceTime. In iOS 18 you can then ask to take control of another device.
Unfortunately, it seems that these functions will not come to Europe. Apple recently announced that three key features of iOS 18 and MacOS Sequoia will not be immediately available in the EU upon release. This is due to concerns about compliance Digital Markets Act.
In addition to these functions, the iOS 18 beta 2 also solves a number of problems. In addition, some functions have been updated. The beta is currently available to developers. A public beta will then be available for everyone to download in July.
