New iPhone 16 photo leaked – with two notable changes

A new leaked photo of iPhone 16 dummy models confirms long-circulating rumors. Here’s what you need to know.

New iPhone 16 photo leaked

According to multiple rumors, the iPhone 16 will get a redesigned camera island with vertically aligned lenses. Sonny Dickson has posted a new leaked photo of iPhone 16 dummies on X (formerly Twitter). It indeed shows the new design. And we can also see the new color options that Apple has chosen for this year.

As mentioned, this photo shows that the main camera and the ultra-wide camera on the new iPhone 16 are positioned underneath each other. This change will likely allow the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus to record spatial videos. This feature is currently exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Apple previously tweaked the layout of the iPhone 15 Pro’s three camera lenses, swapping the telephoto and ultra-wide lenses to enable support for spatial video recording. This new leaked photo of the iPhone 16 dummies shows a slimmer camera island that’s presumably aligned vertically instead of diagonally for the same reason.

New colors for the new iPhone

The leaked photo of the iPhone 16 dummies also show the new colors for the iPhone 16 series. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus come in blue, yellow, pink, green and black. Ming-Chi Kuo reported earlier that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will come in blue, pink, white, black, and green.

The iPhone 16 dummy units in the photo confirm these new colors and immediately provide an idea of what these colors will probably look like in practice.

The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are also expected to feature the A18 chip, 8GB of RAM, a new capture button on the right, an action button on the left, and more. The new iPhones will be announced in September alongside the iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, and a new Apple Watch.
