An image has been leaked of a case for the iPhone SE 4, which we expect early next year. We conclude from these changes.
iPhone SE 4 case has been leaked
Apple leaker Sonny Dickson posted an image on X (formerly Twitter) of a case designed for the iPhone SE 4. The new iPhone SE is expected to be released next spring. The images don’t show any groundbreaking new details, but they do highlight some of the things we can expect from the iPhone SE. We have listed them for you.
A single camera
Although the iPhone SE 4 is probably based on the design of the iPhone 14, the device does not have the same dual camera. This means there is no ultra-wide-angle camera. We still expect a 48MP main camera like the iPhone 15. So even if you don’t have two physical camera sensors on the back, you still have two cameras on the back.
So even though you don’t have two physical camera sensors on the back, you still have two focal lengths. One that uses the 48 MP sensor and zooms in to 12 MP and one that zooms in to the center 12 MP of the 48 MP sensor (what Apple describes as optical quality).
Physical mute button
There are iPhone SE rumors suggesting that the device will have an action button, but this is not supported by more recent rumors. Not so with this leaked case. There’s still a cutout for the mute switch at the top left, instead of another button.
No camera controller
There are no rumors saying that the new iPhone SE will get the camera control dial that was introduced on the iPhone 16 series. This leaked iPhone SE 4 case does not suggest that either. There is no opening or recess in the case on the bottom right side.
iPhone SE4
We expect Apple to introduce the iPhone SE 4 next spring, for a price of around 650 euros. The upcoming iPhone will likely have a new 6.1-inch OLED screen, a USB C connection, a new 48 MP camera, Face ID and more.
