Apple comes with new accessories

Is your keyboard no longer working properly? Or does the battery of your mouse no longer last long? Then it’s time to buy a replacement. However, we recommend that you wait a little longer with your purchase, because Apple plans to announce a series of new accessories soon. It is expected that new versions of the Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad and Magic Keyboard will be released.

Apple is again releasing different versions of the Magic Keyboard, where you can expand the keyboard with a numeric pad and Touch ID. It is almost certain that Apple will release the accessories soon, because codes have surfaced in iOS 18.1. That update will likely arrive on October 28, so we’ll see the new accessories around the same time. It is expected that all devices will have the same new feature.

Accessories get USB-C

Apple switched to USB-C last year with the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. This is the result of European regulations that require companies to provide new devices with a USB-C port. This law should ensure that you can charge all your devices with one cable, so that you do not have to keep buying new cables and throwing away old ones. Apple’s current accessories still have a Lichtning port.

This will soon change, because the Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad and the Magic Keyboard will also have a USB-C connection. That’s not all, because Apple may move the connection to the Magic Mouse. You can currently find this at the bottom of the mouse, so you cannot charge and use the device at the same time. There is a good chance that the charging port will therefore be moved on the new generation of the Magic Mouse.

Release likely soon

Furthermore, Apple will probably not make any adjustments to the accessories. The new versions of the Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad and Magic Keyboard may arrive at the same time as the new Macs. Apple will release the MacBook Pro 2024, iMac 2024 and the Mac mini 2024 this fall. Previously it was expected that this would happen during an event, but that chance now seems small.

At the beginning of October, Apple announced the iPad mini 2024 via a press release. It is quite possible that Apple will present the new Macs and accessories in the same way.
