appletips app: Manage, export and import favorites

Our appletips application for iPhone and iPad has a unique feature that is only available in the at app. It is possible to mark all tips and manuals as favorites, so you can consult them easily and quickly afterwards.

The operation is very simple, open a tip or manual in the app and tap the bookmark symbol at the top. As soon as it is highlighted in yellow, you know that the item has been added to your favorites. You can access all your saved tips via the ‘Favorites’ tab. You can easily manage, export and import your favorites.

Local storage

All your favorites are stored locally on your iPhone or iPad for privacy reasons. This means that you have a separate favorites list for both devices. Fortunately, you can easily export and import your favorites list, useful if you have multiple devices or when you reinstall the app, whether on a new iPhone or iPad.

Open the appletips app
Navigate to the ‘Favorites’ tab
Scroll down
Tap ‘Manage Favorites’
Choose ‘Export’

You will now receive a code, which you can use to add your saved tips to another device.

Navigate to the ‘Favorites’ tab
Scroll down
Tap ‘Manage Favorites’

Enter the previously obtained code in ‘Import favorites’. Then tap ‘Import’ and all your favorites will be imported and added to your list. Please note, the transfer code is only 30 minutes valid.

Because the favorites are stored locally, it is important that when you reinstall the app, whether or not on a new iPhone, you first export your favorites and re-import them within 30 minutes.
