Audi presented the facelifted A5 at the end of last year, so sooner or later Abt would be wrong. That has now happened.
The Audi A5 already has a somewhat less subtle appearance than in the previous generation. The facelift has added a little extra in that respect. Therefore, there seemed to be two options for Abt’s tuners: either completely go crazy, or subtly tackle the already sporty-looking coupé. For the time being, the latter has been chosen. Abt has developed fairly modest adjustments for the A5 Sportback. However, don’t be surprised if in the long run for the RS5 a much more outlandish package comes.
The German tuner provides the A5 Sportback with a somewhat thicker front bumper, where the changes focus purely on the part under the grille. The same recipe at the rear: the standard underside of the rear bumper gives way to a somewhat thicker whole, reminiscent of a diffuser. The tailgate features a subtle carbon fiber rear spoiler. The car is of course also slightly lower: 15 to 40 millimeters, just what you want. For the total picture, Abt offers a choice of four types of 19- and 20-inch wheels.
It does not have to remain with ostentation, because Abt would not be Abt if there were not more possibilities under the hood. Those who bring the 40 TDI along can increase the power from 190 to 215 hp. There is also a power cure available for the pre-facelift 45 TDI. It draws 268 hp instead of 231 hp after the Abt treatment. The maximum torque goes from 500 Nm to 540 Nm. For the 45 TFSI (with 265 hp) there is also a power upgrade ahead. There is currently not known how far it goes, but count on about 300 hp.
