iPhone SE 4 may get a different name – this is what it will be

iPhone SE 4 gets a different name

We recently wrote that Apple will release the iPhone SE 4 this spring and that the device will receive five important upgrades. It now appears that the device will have a new name and will therefore not be called the iPhone SE 4. Anyway, that says so Majin Bu on X. He quoted a source who said that the name of the device will be iPhone 16E.

It is currently unclear whether the name contains a capital E, or whether the name will ultimately be iPhone 16e. Or maybe iPhone 16 SE? Time will tell to what extent this rumor turns out to be true.

Fixed Focus Digital

A similar message appeared earlier last month Fixed Focus Digitalan account with more than two million followers on Chinese social media platform Weibo. However, Fixed Focus Digital does not yet have an established reputation when it comes to Apple rumors. The account did accurately claim that the iPhone 16 Pro models would arrive in a new bronze finish. That ultimately turned out to be Desert Titanium. On the other hand, the account was wrong about the number of available colors of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus.

In any case, the iPhone SE 4, or iPhone 16E, will have a similar design to the iPhone 14. According to the latest rumors, the device will have a 6.1-inch OLED screen, Face ID, a USB-C port, a single 48-megapixel camera on the rear, a newer A-series chip and 8 GB of RAM to support Apple Intelligence, and the first 5G modem designed by Apple. It is not clear whether the device will have an Action button, which first appeared on the iPhone 15 Pro models.

Apple announced the current iPhone SE during an online event in March 2022. That device resembles the iPhone 8, with outdated features such as a Touch ID button, Lightning port and thick bezels around the display. The iPhone SE 2022 currently costs around €446. The iPhone 16E will probably be a bit more expensive (we suspect 649 euros).
