BMW Motorrad achieved the strongest sales result in company history in 2024 with 210,408 motorcycles sold. Germany remains the largest market and contributes significantly to BMW Motorrad’s sales record, Europe remains the most important market.
According to the Germans, the strongest arguments for the successful performance in 2024 have been the convincing product portfolio with successful offers that shape each segment, as well as the market introduction of new models such as the BMW M 1000 XR and S 1000 BMW F 800 GS, F 900 GS and F 900 GS Adventure, the Heritage models BMW R 12 and R 12 NineT and leading, the adventurous touring icons BMW R 1300 GS and GS Adventure with the legendary BMW Boxer engine.

With 118,727 motorcycles sold, Europe claims to be by far the strongest sales region for BMW Motorrad. The strongest individual European market, with an increase of more than 8% compared to the previous year, remains Germany with 26,177 motorcycles, followed by France (20,693 motorcycles), Italy (16,617 motorcycles) and Spain (13,009 motorcycles).
Contributing to the exceptional performance across Europe is Central Europe with 11,411 motorcycles, contributing to an extraordinary increase of more than 12% on the previous year.
In other regions, several markets relevant to BMW Motorrad were able to close 2024 with high sales performance. The USA (17,272 motorcycles), Brazil (15,267 motorcycles), China (13,872 motorcycles) and India (8,301 motorcycles) made significant contributions to BMW Motorrad’s record performance.
The best-selling model is and remains the Boxer-GS. The R 1300 GS, R 1250 GS Adventure and R 1300 GS Adventure, introduced at the end of last year, and some older R 1250 GS models found their way to 68,000 customers worldwide last year.
The Germans are also very positive about sales of the four-cylinder line-up. The S 1000 RR sold 11,610 units worldwide, which is just over 40% of the 27,147 units sold in total for the four-cylinder engines, including the three M models.
With a total of 40,890 motorcycles sold, the updated F series with the models BMW F 800 GS, F 900 GS, F 900 GS Adventure, F 900 R and the F 900 XR contributed significantly to BMW Motorrad’s record performance. Other success factors were BMW Motorrad’s versatile all-rounders in the sub-500cc displacement segment. Until the end of the year, 22,339 motorcycles of the BMW G 310 GS, G 310 R and G 310 RR models were sold.
