Every Wednesday on Pcactive.nl you can read a new episode of Rob about … This time it is about the fact that I experienced something strange with a lot from auction house Troostwijk Auctions.
As editor-in-chief of PC-Active, I write every week about a subject that concerns me, interests or what I experience. As I reported earlier, I have been active for a few months at the Auction House Troostwijk Auctions. After generally positive experiences with Troostwijk, I am now less positive about this auction house. Earlier I noticed that sometimes a bidder comes to the price at the last moment. I say ‘seems’, because that can of course happen and not yet hard evidence.
Offer
I recently offered Douglas wood on 8 garden fences (called garden screens). I had a competitor who apparently was very interested in this. Eventually that person gave up, the price had risen considerably but still okay for me and I went to pick them up. The photo shows a total of 18 garden fences and I was also interested in the other 10. So I looked at the bids for this lot full of interest. There were only 3 bidders, with the first dropping quickly. Bieder 2 first offered 200 euros and fairly soon afterwards 300 euros, with the minimum price being reached and the lot would therefore be sold anyway. So it would go between him and me. Unfortunately that person eventually had the highest bid, it became too much for me, a pity.
Hey, he was sold, right?
Within 1 day, new plots from this provider came to the Troostwijk app. Who sketches my surprise that exactly the same lot with exactly the same photo appeared again … Hey, he was sold, right? The next day I sent an email to Troostwijk asking what is going on and asked for clarification. Also my telephone number to explain it to me by telephone. Troostwijk reports in the app that they are trying to answer within 3 working days. They are not over yet, I am curious about the answer …
