The iPhone 16th is now officially the cheapest iPhone of 2025. Nevertheless, the new iPhone with a starting price of 719 euros is not exactly cheap. We have found 5 things from the iPhone 16th that you probably missed. We list them for you.
1. No magsafe
It is quite startling that the iPhone 16th does support wirelessly via Qi, but that Magsafe is missing. So there are no built -in magnets that click the iPhone when you start charging wirelessly. As a result, wireless charging is also less fast. Moreover, you cannot use magsafe accessories such as holders, wallets and the like.
This is a fairly remarkable limitation, especially since all non-budget iPhones have had magsafe support since the introduction of the iPhone 12 in 2020.
2. A18 GPU
The iPhone 16th runs on an A18 chip. That is the same processor that is in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus. Yet there is one important difference: the A18 chip of the iPhone 16 has a 5-core GPU, the A18 chip of the latest iPhone has a 4-core GPU.
This will not stand out most people, but it is one of the things that Apple has done to save costs in the production of the iPhone 16th.
3. Visual Intelligence
The iPhone 16th offers full support for the Apple Intelligence functions, in particular Visual Intelligence. On the iPhone 16 models you activate Visual Intelligence by pressing the camera control for a long time, but the iPhone 16th has no camera control. You could use the action button for that, or you add a button to the control panel.

4. At least 128 GB
The iPhone 16th has a minimum storage space of 128 GB. This means that Apple no longer sells iPhone with 64 GB storage space. Since Apple Intelligence takes up about 7 GB of storage space, this is also a logical step.
It is one of the things that make the new iPhone more expensive. For your information: the iPhone SE 2022 with 64 GB initially cost 529 euros at Apple. The 128 GB version then cost 579 euros. For the iPhone 16th with 128 GB you now pay 719 euros.
5. No ultra wideband chip
The iPhone 16th is the first iPhone with the C1 5G modem that Apple itself has manufactured. An advantage of this is that this modem is less burdensome for the battery, making the battery life a little longer.
A disadvantage is that the iPhone 16th therefore has no ultra wideband chip. As a result, you miss functions such as ‘accurate search’ for airtags and ‘find my’. It also influences things like smart locks that use UWB.
