The brand new electric version of the Twingo has Dutch price tags. The city EV, initially baptized as Renault Twingo ZE, will be renamed Twingo Electric.
At the beginning of this year, Renault introduced the Twingo ZE to the world, a fully electric version of the Twingo, the Dutch prices of which have now been announced. The compact French EV is now called Twingo Electric and has a starting price that is still under € 21,000.
Renault charges at least € 20,590 for the Twingo Electric. For that amount you get the keys of the basic version Life in your hands. The Life has three versions above it: the € 22,090 Collection, the € 23,490 Intens and the temporarily available Série Limitée Vibes. This limited edition has a base price of € 24,790 and acts as a topper of the Twingo Electric range. This top edition includes a reversing camera and comes with the Easy Link multimedia system from the factory with a 7-inch display on the center console. This system has an additional cost of € 495 for the other versions.
Renault Twingo Electric Série Limitée Vibes
The Twingo Electric has an 82 hp and 160 Nm strong electric motor that is linked to a battery pack with a capacity of 22 kWh. According to the WLTP cycle, the Twingo should be able to travel 190 kilometers with that electrical heart. On an 22 kW charger, the Twingo Electric can be charged up to 80 percent of its capacity with electricity in an hour. The luggage compartment of the Twingo Electric with 240 liters is identical to that of the Twingo with combustion engine. This is because the battery pack is completely concealed in the bottom of the car.
Renault opens the order books for the Twingo Electric in August. In the autumn, the fully electric Twingo is at the dealers. Once on the market, the Twingo Electric has to compete with the electric city triplet of the Volkswagen Group consisting of the Seat Mii Electric, Volkswagen e-Up and Skoda Citigo iV. And of course the electric Smart ForFour, on which this Twingo variant is fully based.
