“One in three Dutch people consider electric car”

The Dutch are increasingly open to electric driving. This is evident from the group of interested parties. A significant portion may see electric driving in the next five years.

In the business market, EV has grown in popularity in recent years. Of course in large part because of the financial benefits. The private market for electric cars is still somewhat behind. Not surprising when you consider that many second-hand EVs are either still quite expensive or have a range that is not necessarily interesting enough. In the long run, however, it will improve. A Pricewise survey of 1,000 respondents shows that one in three Dutch people considers purchasing an electric car within five years.

It is striking that driving an electric car can mainly count on the interest of younger drivers. In the group aged 18 to 34, 41 percent of respondents indicate that electric driving is an option for them within five years. Consumers generally wait a little longer until the used car market is interesting enough, explains Pricewise director Hans de Kok. “Most Dutch people prefer to buy a used car. The supply of used electric cars is still virtually nil.”
