Apple will present iOS 19 soon! The WWDC 2025 takes place from 9 June to 13 June, that week, Apple reveals the most important software updates of the year. Apple then announces iOS 19, iPados 19, Watchos 12 and MacOS 16. The expectations are high, because it seems that Apple brings many new functions and a redesign to iOS 19 and iPados 19. We put the expected features for you.
1. New design
The most important change of iOS 19 is the new design of the operating system. A new design was already expected at iOS 18, but in the end it didn’t happen. This year is the case, because iOS 19 will get a completely new interface. According to rumors, many elements come from Visionos to iOS 19. That means that we will see more transparent frameworks and new symbols in apps.
Apple has reportedly set three goals that the new design must meet. The new interface must ensure that the operating system is easier to use, that users can navigate more quickly through iOS and that new users understand the software faster. 2. Integration of Apple Intelligence
With iOS 19, Apple Intelligence is probably improved. It is expected that Apple Intelligence will be expanded with more language models. At present, Apple Intelligence is still using the language models of Chatgpt. The same models are used for the renewed version of Siri. Apple adds more language models with iOS 19, so does Google Gemini come to Apple Intelligence.
This is less interesting for Dutch and Belgian users, because Apple Intelligence is only available here in English. Possibly the Dutch version of Apple Intelligence with iOS 19 finally comes to the iPhone, but that remains to be seen. Nothing is yet known about a Dutch variant of Apple Intelligence. Probably it will only be available with a later update of iOS 19, which means that we have to do without the most important AI functions for the time being.
3. Support for Stage Manager
With iOS 19 it becomes much easier to connect your iPhone to an external screen. At the moment you can already connect iPhones with a USB-C connection with a display, but then only a synchronous display is available. With iOS 19 that changes, because then the iPhone will receive support for Stage Manager. That means that you can use multiple iPhones apps on an external screen.
At the iPad, Stage Manager supports up to eight applications at the same time. The iPhone may get similar functions with iOS 19, making Apple it much easier to multitask on an external display. Release of iOS 19
With iOS 19, many new functions come to your iPhone. Previous rumors predict that both the camera and the health app will get a completely new layout. In addition, the Health app is being expanded with a new coach, which gives advice in the field of fitness and health. This new health coach probably uses data from your Apple Watch and can also be used on the smartwatch itself.
Apple will soon announce iOS 19, that happens Monday, June 9 at 7 p.m. (Dutch time). That evening Apple presents the most important software updates of 2025, including iOS 19 and iPados 19.
