This way you can better protect your iPhone
Face ID and a pin code are not necessarily unsafe, but if you want to increase the security of your iPhone a bit, you can. We show you what you can do.
Use Face ID with attention detection
As mentioned, Face ID protects your iPhone well, but you can protect your iPhone even better if you enable the ‘Attention for Face ID’ option. You do that as follows:
- Open the app settings;
- Tap ‘Face ID and access code’ and log in with your access code;
- Call in the option ‘Attention requires Face ID’;
- Also encourage the function with ‘Facilities for attention detection’.
Set an alphanumeric access code
You can also better protect your iPhone with an even safer access code. When Face ID does not work, your iPhone asks for the access code. Fill in six digits for this as standard. That is of course a lot safer with a code consisting of numbers and letters. You set that in the following way.
- Open the app settings;
- Tap ‘Face ID and access code’ (or ‘Touch ID and access code’);
- Fill in your current code and scroll down;
- Tap ‘change access code’;
- Type your current access code again and choose ‘access code options’;
- Choose ‘custom alphanumeric code’ and enter your new code;
- Go to ‘Next’ and repeat your code;
- Tap ‘ready’.
It is also a good idea to better protect your iPhone by switching on the ‘Looking for My’ function. You do that in the following way:
- Open the app settings;
- Tap your name and then on ‘search my’;
- Tap ‘find my iPhone’;
- Switch on ‘find my iPhone’.
