Airpods Max 2 is coming

You may have been wondering for years when the AirPods Max 2 finally appears. Apple has revised the headphones last fall and added a USB-C port, but nothing else has changed. Although the AirPods Max is the most expensive, there are no functions that are available in even the cheapest AirPods 4. Moreover, the headphones run on the outdated H1 chip.

If we are allowed to believe Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, you still have to wait a while before Apple is ready to release the next generation. He recently said on X that the next generation Airpods Max will only be on the market in 2027. Not much is yet known about the AirPods Max 2, but at least it solves the biggest problem of the first version.

Lighter than the predecessor

Kuo says that the 2027 AirPods Max will have a new design. This suggests that it will be an important update and therefore not a small revision such as adding USB-C in the past year.

According to Kuo, the new AirPods Max 2 will get a lighter design. That is also the solution for one of the biggest complaints about the current AirPods Max. The generous use of aluminum ensures that the headphones press rather heavily on the head. In any case, there are enough users who experience it as uncomfortable during long listening sessions.

The current AirPods Max weighs 386 grams and that is relatively heavy. The similar Beats Studio Pro Weighs only 260 grams and the Sony WH-1000XM5 even weighs 250 grams. With 293 grams, the Sennheiser Momentum 4 is slightly heavier, but still a lot lighter than the AirPods Max. So it would be nice if the Apple managed to get rid of some weight of the AirPods max 2.
