Have you just cleaned up your photo library and do you want to delete all deleted photos immediately? Then that almost looks like an impossible job on the Mac, because you would think you should select the parts one by one, but this is not the case.
You can easily remove all the photos and videos that you have erased in one go. This is possible with a key combination, special option or a smart trick. In addition, you can also wait 30 days, then they will be automatically deleted.
Consult deleted photos and videos
- Open the Photos Application for Mac
- Navigate to the menu bar
- Click on ‘display’
- Choose ‘Collections’, ‘Photos’ or ‘Library’
- Open ‘recently deleted’
- If necessary, click on ‘View album’
You can also open the album directly from the navigation column in photos. On an iPhone or iPad you can consult this album via the photos app â–¸ (albums) â–¸ Scrol down â–¸ Tap ‘recently deleted’.
Delete all deleted photos
Do you want to immediately delete the full content of the ‘recently deleted’ album? Then this is possible with a handy trick.
- Open photos for iPhone or iPad
- Navigate to the album ‘Recently deleted’
- Open and unlock the album
- Tap at the top of ‘Select’
- Tap the circle with three dots
- Choose ‘Remove all’
On an iPhone or iPad you can tap from iOS 18.4 and iPados 18.4 after opening the album at the bottom, without having selected parts, on the trash symbol and choose ‘Remove all devices’.

You have several options on a Mac. After you have opened the album, you can test combination command⌘ + A Use to select all photos and videos and then click on ‘Remove X Parts’ at the top.
In addition, you can also click on ‘recently deleted’ in the navigation column with a secondary click (right mouse button). Then choose ‘Dispeled parts’. Finally, this option can also be consulted via the menu bar â–¸ Photos â–¸ Disguated parts.
