The HomePod Mini was released in 2020 and requires an update. According to various rumors, we can expect a new copy in 2025 with a new processor and support for WiFi 6th.
The design of the HomePod Mini is probably not renewed, but you can expect other colors. The most important addition would be Apple’s own Bluetooth and WiFi chip with better support.
HomePod Mini 2nd generation
The HomePod Mini is perhaps a keeper and will be provided with a small update in the course of 2025. Do not expect major adjustments, because this would mainly be an internal upgrade with a new processor and Apple’s own Bluetooth and WiFi chip.
Unchanged design
The design of the HomePod Mini may not be adjusted and will only get new colors. Which colors is still unknown.

Faster processor
The current generation HomePod Mini runs on an S5 chip and was first used in the Apple Watch Series 5. The HomePod 2nd generation runs on the S7 chip. There is a chance that the new mini will get a newer chip, possibly the S9 or S10. If Apple Intelligence is also added, an A17 Pro, A18 or M chip is necessary.
Own Bluetooth and WiFi chip
According to various sources, Apple would be busy developing their own Bluetooth and WiFi chip. Internally this has the codename Proxima. Just like Apple Silicon and the recently released C1 chip for mobile data, Apple wants to be less and less dependent on external suppliers such as Broadcom. The new Bluetooth and WiFi chip offers support for WiFi 6th, better connectivity and is more energy efficient.
Availability HomePod Mini 2
The HomePod Mini 2nd generation is expected in the course of 2025, possibly in the autumn. This probably retains the same suggested retail price of € 109.
