A large -scale study by OpenAi and Harvard shows that Chatgpt is mainly used for practical help in daily life. From writing and searching for information to asking and coding: the application of the chatbot appears to be much wider and more versatile than often thought.
The analysis shows that the majority of the interactions are all about writing, looking up information and practical advice. Writing is the most important work -oriented application. Coding is mentioned less often, while creative expression and personal conversations play a more modest but growing role.
Work and Private
About thirty percent of the use appears to be work -related, for example for drawing up texts or analyzing information. The remaining seventy percent is about private questions, ranging from homework help and recipes to emotional support. This makes chatgpt not only a productivity tool, but also a personal assistant.
Growing diversity
The user group has also become more diverse. Whereas in the early 2024 mainly men used chatgpt, the share of female users has now risen to more than half. Even in countries with low and middle incomes, the adoption is growing remarkably fast: there the increase is even four times the size of richer countries.
