The Ducati Multistrada V4 RS returns – for 2026 sharper than ever. With promises about improved electronics, more brake power, weight saving and superior finish, Ducati says he has taken a step forward.
The Multistrada V4 RS was introduced in 2023 as the sportiest Multistrada ever. With his Desmosisedics Stradale block, top suspension and high-tech electronics, he immediately made an impression, but during our test last year the uncompromising character was not for everyone.
The block felt raw and unwilling at the bottom, the Quickshifter did not always show its best side and the choice for circuit -oriented pirellis turned out to be a risk rather than an advantage. Add the hefty weight and you had a machine that could be brilliant, but also tiring.
Before 2026, Ducati promises that the RS on all fronts has become more refined. The electronics have been redesigned with the Ducati Vehicle Observer algorithm, directly from the MotoGP, which simulates the effect of seventy sensors for even more precise control.
The semi-active Öhlins suspension got new strategies, the rear brake disc grew to 280 mm and the curves ABS was further improved. Weight saving has also been found thanks to a titanium subframe that can now wear a top case, forged wheels, carbon details and a light lithium-ion battery-good for two kilos less than the Pikes Peak.
In appearance, the RS remains unmistakably a Multistrada, but with its own RS livery and numerous subtle details-from carbon front fender to techno-polymer butt-he radiates even more exclusivity. Each machine is also supplied numbered, complete with plaque on the crown plate and its own starting animation on the TFT screen.
Whether the new RS knows how to brush away the criticisms of its predecessor should turn out as soon as we set off. That is, if we are allowed to go on the road. In the past year we were the first, and immediately latter, from Italy a ban was issued to lend the RS to journalists.
On paper, he sounds at least faster, smarter and more refined, but the practice will show whether Ducati has succeeded in turning the uncompromising beast into a really balanced sports tourer. Not that it will be decisive for potential buyers, just like the previous one will also be sold out in no time. Oh yes, available from November with the European dealers.
