Apple Vision Pro 2 is coming – and has these 3 new functions

The Apple Vision Pro appeared on the market in 2024 and according to rumors there is now a new version – these are 3 upgrades that we expect.

Apple Vision Pro with 3 new functions

Although the first Apple Vision Pro has never been available in the Netherlands, Apple will soon come up with a new version. The expectation is that the new Vision Pro will receive at least 3 upgrades. We list them for you.

1. An M4 or M5 chip

The current version of the Vision Pro runs on an M2 chip next to an R1 chip. In the meantime, contradictory messages have been published about which chip will be used in the new version. They come from Apple analysts Ming-Chi Kuo and Mark Gurman. Kuo says for a long time that an M5 chip is coming in, but Gurman said not so long ago that it will be an M4 chip.

There is something to say for both, and Kuo and Gurman are generally both reliable. Whatever chip it will be, the new Vision Pro gets a chip that is at least two generations better than its predecessor. And therefore possibly even three. We do not yet know the specifications of the M5, but we will soon expect them if the new iPad Pro is presented.

2. A new, more comfortable headband

One of the most common criticisms on the existing Vision Pro is that it is too heavy. Apple does work on a lighter model, but that will probably only appear in 2027. According to the last rumors, one of the 3 upgrades that Apple has in store for the Vision Pro has a new headband. According to Bloomberg, it is designed to reduce neck complaints and headaches. Whether the new headband is able to resolve all existing criticism will continue to wait.

3. An improved neural engine for AI and more

The last of the 3 upgrades at the Vision Pro has to do with the Neural Engine. This is used for Apple Intelligence, among others. It looks like Apple is implementing special upgrades for this on the new version of the Vision Pro. In addition, it doesn’t matter whether there is an M4 or M5 chip in the device. Mark Gurman says the following:

“Apple is also testing versions of the New Device That Increase Inside of the Neural Engine – A Component for Processing Artificial Intelligence Tasks. The Neural Engine in the Current Vision Pro Includes 16 Cores, A Measure of Device For Device For Device A Fordice For Device A Fordice For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For Device For The Live Processing of Imagery and Applications in Complex Virtual Environments. ”

“Apple also test versions of the new device in which the number of cores in the Neural Engine – a component for processing artificial intelligence tasks – is extensive. The neural engine in the current Vision Pro contains 16 cores, a benchmark for the processing power. These options are of crucial interest for a device that is virtx.

Apple will present the new Vision Pro soon

It is not yet entirely clear whether the new Vision Pro will be published this year, or only early next year. In any case, it will not take a long time. The American Federal Communications Commission (FCC) this confirms. One of the documents that the FCC recently shared refers to a ‘Head Mounted Device’ designed by Apple with model number A3416. An attached image (see above) confirms that this is a Vision Pro.
