iPad Pro 2025 is coming: these are the 3 most important improvements

We expect Apple to present the new iPad Pro in October this year – these are the 3 improvements you can expect.

3 improvements of the iPad Pro 2025

That the iPad Pro 2025 is coming soon is confirmed by unboxing videos on Russian YouTube channels Wylsacom and Romancev768. These YouTube channels also leaked the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M4 chip last year before it was announced by Apple, so they seem credible.

Last year, the iPad Pro was updated with an OLED screen and a thinner design. No major design changes are expected this year, but the unboxing videos do reveal that it no longer says “iPad Pro” on the back. We list the 3 most important improvements of the iPad Pro 2025 for you:

1. An M5 chip

The most important improvement of the iPad Pro 2025 is undoubtedly the M5 chip. According to the Geekbench 6 benchmark results in one of the videos, the M5 chip offers up to 12 percent faster multi-core CPU performance and up to 36 percent faster graphics performance compared to the M4 chip in the current iPad Pro.

2. With 12 GB RAM

The benchmark result also showed that the iPad Pro with 256 GB of storage has 12 GB of RAM, just like the iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. iPad Pro models with the M4 chip only have 8 GB of RAM when equipped with 256 GB or 512 GB of storage space. Models with 1 TB or 2 TB of storage space are equipped with 16 GB of RAM.

3. A second front camera

Rumors previously appeared that the next iPad Pro models would have two cameras on the front. This allows you to easily take photos and make video calls in both portrait and landscape orientation. However, there is no evidence of this in the unboxing videos. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman responds to this in the latest Power On Newsletter:

“I can say with certainty that M5 iPad Pros within Apple have the second lens. There’s a history of Apple testing features at an advanced stage before pulling them (such as certain storage capacities or features like a second dock connector on the original iPad), but this would be a strange, last-minute cut.”

“I can say with certainty that Apple’s M5 iPad Pros will have a second lens. While Apple has been known to test features at an advanced stage before dropping them (such as certain storage capacities or features like a second dock connector on the original iPad), this would be an odd, last-minute decision.”

Whether the last of the 3 improvements of the iPad Pro 2025 is correct or not remains to be seen. But luckily not for much longer!
