Scratches on the iPhone 17: Apple (finally) has a solution

The iPhone 17 series appears to be very sensitive to scratches, but Apple has finally come up with a solution for this. This is what it looks like!

The iPhone 17 series has been in stores for almost a month, but suffered from a problem almost immediately after release. The housing of the iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max appears to be extremely sensitive to scratches. The first scratches were already visible on test models of these devices when they had only been in stores for a few hours. Not long after, Apple issued a response to the scratches on the iPhone 17 series.

According to the company, the cause was not due to the housing of the new iPhones, but to the MagSafe chargers to which the devices were connected in the stores. According to Apple, these charging stands in the Apple Stores were worn out, leaving marks on the iPhone 17. Apple emphasized that these were not scratches, instead the iPhone 17 suffered from marks caused by the wireless chargers.

Solution in Apple Stores

Apple indicated in the same response that the stains (or scratches) on the iPhone 17 series can be easily removed by cleaning the device. However, the company has now addressed the cause of the damage, because the MagSafe chargers in Apple Stores have been improved. Silicone rings have been added to these wireless chargers, which should better protect the housing of the iPhone 17 Pro (Max) and iPhone Air.

The first updated MagSafe standards have appeared at Apple Stores in France, and Apple is likely to soon implement the same changes in other countries. In this way, Apple is trying to prevent the iPhone 17 series from getting scratches or stains in the store. The silicone finish on MagSafe chargers leaves much less marks on the iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and iPhone Air. This means there are no longer any visible scratches.

Practice shows that Apple is right and the scratches can easily be removed from the iPhone 17 series.
