Although Apple has only just announced the new iPhone series, Apple Watch models and AirPods Pro 3, we can expect new products later this month. According to rumors, the company has even more in store for us.
Rumors indicate that Apple may launch a new Apple TV 4K, HomePod mini and AirTag this fall. Devices with a new M5 chip are also expected. These products may be announced during an Apple Event. We list all current rumors for you.
Apple Event in October
There is no certainty yet whether Apple will organize an event in October 2025, as such an event does not take place every year. In recent years, Apple has sometimes held an event in October, but in other years product announcements have been made via press releases without a major event. If there is an Apple Event in October this year, it will probably be the week of October 27. Below is an overview of the past five years.
- 2024: No official event, but several product announcements via press releases between October 28 and 30.
- 2023: Event on October 30 including new Macs.
- 2022: No event, instead press releases on October 18.
- 2021: Event on October 18 with new MacBook Pro models and other announcements.
- 2020: Event on October 13 with iPhone 12 series (postponed for Covid) and HomePod mini.
Products expected at the end of 2025
Various rumors report that we can expect a number of new Apple products this fall, including an iPad Pro with the new M5 chip. An updated Apple TV with a faster A17 Pro chip is also expected, as well as a HomePod mini equipped with a newer chip and improved Siri functionality. Below is an overview.
Home and accessories
- Apple TV 4K (4th generation): More powerful processor than the current A15 chip and possibly an Apple-designed WiFi and Bluetooth chip with support for WiFi 6E or WiFi 7. Rumors say Apple TV may have a built-in FaceTime camera.
- HomePod mini (2nd generation): Unchanged design except for possible new colors, new Apple-designed WiFi and Bluetooth chip with WiFi 6E or WiFi 7 and possibly better sound quality.
- AirTag (2nd generation): Has a tracking range up to three times longer than the current model thanks to improved location tracking from the U2, a new speaker that is more difficult to manipulate as an anti-stalking measure.
Apple devices with M5 chip
Apple may want to introduce the M5 chip this fall. As with the M4 chip, it will probably appear first in the iPad Pro.
- iPad Pro 2025: Unchanged design, but may get two FaceTime cameras. Extra powerful thanks to brand new M5 chip.
- Apple Vision Pro 2nd generation: M5 processor and an improved headband that should reduce neck and headache pain.
There are reports that the entry-level MacBook Pro model will also receive an M5 chip, while the other models will temporarily retain the M4 Pro and M4 Max. The launch for the MacBook Pro with M5 Pro and M5 Max is planned for early 2026, just like the MacBook Air with M5 chip. This is later than the expected release in 2025. The MacBook Pro with M5 series is expected to be the last model with the current design before Apple switches to a new design with OLED screens.
Other expectations
- Studio Display 2: Likely to launch in late 2025 or early 2026, with mini LED backlight and new processor
- iPad mini may get an A19 Pro chip, perhaps not until 2026
