When you purchase an Apple product, you can try Apple TV for free for three months, at least if you are a ‘new customer’. Anyone who does not have this can test the service for free for a week and then watch TV+ cheaper, because you can get a discount thanks to a student or annual subscription.

After a 7-day trial period, you pay €9.99 per month. If you have set up family sharing, one standard subscription is sufficient for the entire family. This means that when one family member takes out a subscription, everyone who is part of family sharing gets free access to the TV+ offering.
In addition to the monthly subscription, you can also take out an annual subscription to tv and then you only pay € 99 per year. That ultimately works out to be twelve cheaper than paying monthly.
Adjust Apple TV subscription
- Open Settings on an iPhone or iPad
- Tap your name
- Go to Subscriptions
- Tap the Apple TV subscription
- Select ‘View all subscriptions’
- Select the year option
If you just want to cancel the subscription, you can choose the option ‘Cancel (trial) subscription’.
In addition to your iPhone or iPad, you can of course also adjust the Apple TV subscription via the website of the same name. Open tv.apple.com and log in at the top with your Apple ID. Then click on your profile photo and choose ‘Account settings’. Scroll down and click on ‘Management’ under ‘Subscription’ and choose the ‘1 year’ option. If you just want to cancel the subscription, you can choose the ‘Cancel subscription’ option.
Be careful when canceling!
During the one-year free trial period, you must agree to a monthly subscription that will begin after the free period ends. Of course you can always stop this, but there is one for this TV promotion catch! In most cases you are allowed to wait out the trial period, but this is not the case with this promotion.
If you cancel the subscription during the three-month trial period, this will occur immediately to expire. You and your family members will then no longer be able to use TV and you will no longer be able to reactivate the trial period. It is best to set a reminder to cancel your free annual subscription two days before it expires!
