New features WhatsApp
WhatsApp will soon add two new features! The web version of WhatsApp is being expanded with video and voice calls. These features have been available on smartphones for some time, but could not yet be used in the web version of WhatsApp. That is about to change, because you can finally start a voice or video call in the web version of the popular messaging service. From now on you no longer need the application for this.
It has been clear for some time that video and voice calls would come to the web version of WhatsApp. In the test version of WhatsApp, a small number of users can now get started with the new features. The video and voice calls will soon be added to the final version of WhatsApp, making them available to all users. Good news if you regularly call via WhatsApp, this will soon be even easier via the web version.
Only for group conversations
Do you use WhatsApp Web? Then you will soon receive two new functions. Unfortunately, the video and voice calls will not be available in all calls. WhatsApp only adds the features to private conversations. Group conversations have to make do without video or voice calls for the time being. You do need the WhatsApp application for this, only there you can make (video) calls in group conversations.
It is not yet known when the (video) calls to group conversations in WhatsApp Web will come. Up to 32 group call participants can participate in video and voice calls in WhatsApp. You can invite users to these (video) calls with a web link, as is also possible with FaceTime or Zoom, for example.
It is expected that (video) conversations in group chats on WhatsApp Web will have the same options. These conversations can also be scheduled in WhatsApp Web, so that you can use the messaging service for business meetings, for example.
More new WhatsApp features
WhatsApp Web will soon receive two useful functions. Users with the test version of WhatsApp Web can now get started with voice and video calls in private chats. It usually takes several weeks to months for WhatsApp to roll out new features to all users. So just be patient, because it may take a while before you can call via WhatsApp Web.
